Polar CS100 Cycling Computer Heart Rate Monitor (2008 Model) Polar CS100 Cycling Computer Heart Rate Monitor (2008 Model) The handlebar-mounted Polar CS100 combines all the features of a high-end cycle computer with a fully functional heart rate monitor–the Polar T31 coded transmitter. (The similarly featured CS100B offers heart rate monitor compatibility, but does not come with a monitor.) The CS100 provides a full range of cycling computer functions, and adds three new features to Polar’s arsenal: the Polar Cycling Coach (a Web-based coaching program and diary), estimated time of arrival (based on your speed), and automatic display scroll, which switches the information on the display according to your preferences. Features include:

  • Wireless ECG accurate heart rate with Polar OwnCode (5kHz) to prevent cross-talk from other heart rate monitors
  • Target heart rate zones with visual and audible alarms
  • Graphical comparison of heart rate and speed
  • Heart rate measurements: maximum of total and each lap, average of total
  • Cycling measurements: Speed (current, average and max); trip; distance
  • Calorie consumption rate per kilometer
  • Wheel size settings for two bicycles, speed sensor installation for different fork shapes
  • Automatic lap recording (up to 50 laps) with exercise date
  • Exercise file info page with date and time
  • Semi-automatic backlighting
  • Water resistance to 10 meters (protects against rain and splashes)
  • SpeedPointer: Points out the difference between average speed/pace and actual speed/pace on the display by up/down arrows.
  • Estimated Time of Arrival: Set the distance you are going to ride, and your cycling computer calculates the estimated time of arrival based on your cycling speed.
  • Polar OwnCal: Shows your energy expenditure during one exercise session as well as your accumulated kilocalories during several exercise sessions. Because the OwnCal tracks both the energy expenditure during one exercise session and the accumulated kilocalories during a longer time e.g. one week, it helps in achieving both short term and long term goals.
  • Compatible with Polar WearLink 31 and Polar T61 coded transmitters

Customer Review: Fantastic Device
I bought two - one for myself (Ice Aluminum) and for my husband (Bronze Rock). Previously we had (still have) a much simpler Omron model.
We haven’t had them long, but they are really quite simple to use if you spend 10 mins looking at the manual. The same buttons are used for a majority of the functions.
I love that you can customize the display - sometimes I look at my (HR - Calories - Time in HR Zone) and others I like to watch the (HR on the scale - HR - Time). You can pretty much change them around to suit your preference.

Polar F4 Blue Ice (Size Small 28-40 Inch Transmitter) Heart Rate Monitor for Women (Great for Weight Loss and Cardio Exercise) Polar F4 Blue Ice (Size Small 28-40 Inch Transmitter) Heart Rate Monitor for Women (Great for Weight Loss and Cardio Exercise) Customer Review: It’s OK but it could use some enhancements
I’ve had the Polar F4 watch for 5 months now and I use it regularly. I would say it’s OK for basically knowing where your heart rate is when exercising, but it could use some enhancements, such as: a back light (helpful when you take an exercise class in a room with the lights dimmed - spinning, yoga, etc); ability to check your heart rate and not have it counted towards your weekly exercise totals; ability to delete a bad / erroneous heart rate reading. What I mean for the last two is the watch only records your heart rate when you engage it in exercise mode. Once it’s in exercise mode for more than 5 seconds, that reading counts. That session and its duration and heart rate reading are added to your weekly totals. Well sometimes I don’t want to add a heart rate reading toward my totals. But there’s no option for deleting it or not saving it. A useful reason for having the ability to check your heart rate reading without having it count towards your exercise totals is to get a reading of your resting heart rate, when you are not exercising. You can use your resting heart rate as a basis to calculate your maximum target heart rate.
Another issue is that lately the watch a) freezes up and doesn’t respond to the buttons and b)doesn’t read my heart rate at all or stops reading it mid way in the middle of an exercise session. I can’t understand why because I make sure the chest belt is secured in place and I’ll repeatedly even tighten it and press and hold the chest belt to my chest. This is annoying because I have to pay more attention to what the watch is doing than paying attention to the exercise class - defeats the purpose of exercising. This only started happening when I started using the watch 5 to 7 days/ week, ironically when I need it most. In summary, I would say it’s an OK watch if you are not relaying heavily on the readings. But if you do and you need it 7 days/week at high intensity workouts, look into getting a more advanced model.
Customer Review: Great product for a good price.
I was looking for a simple heart rate monitor for use in the gym and on the running trail - this one was exactly what I needed! Easy to set up and use. My only complaint is the chest strap is slightly uncomfortable, especially during heavy breathing while working out. I suspect this is more due to my particular anatomy/size (on the small side) than anything as it feels like it is pressing my xiphoid (the point at the bottom of your sternum) into my heart, but I’m sure it’s not ;) In most people I am sure it lays more comfortably on the chest. Overall I would definitely purchase it again and recommend it to anyone!

Customer Review: Polar RS800
This product is excellent i have been used Polar for more than 10 years, i have the GPS and the foot sensor, as i practice mountain bike, i had some doubts because i have read in Amazon the products is not very good, but i took the risk and no regret, the only issue is the Polar software is excellent but do not have manual, only the help files and this is the only reason they do not have 5 stars.
Customer Review: It works for me
I have had my RS800SD for almost a year now, and I love it. Measuring cadence has helped my running more than anything else I have done. This is the main reason that I chose it over GPS units. I took ten minutes off of my half marathon time using it for training.

The watch will allow you to select which one of these 3 you perform, or just a free, personally controlled, exercise session. Customer Review: Very dissapointed…..
I bought the Polar F4 heart rate monitor and was so excited about my purchase. I received the product very quickly and was happy about that. But when I opened the package and tried to turn on the watch…NOTHING. They sold me a HRM and the watch battery was already DEAD. How dissapointing. I was hoping to get using the monitor right away….but nope! So after searching for a battery that actually fit the watch, I had to drive an hour away just to get the right battery! I like the monitor but am so upset I had to go through all of this just to get using it. I spent $90 and shouldn’t of had to have to replace the battery even before my first use!!
Customer Review: not durable enough
This watch worked great for about 6 months. Then the buttons on the sides fell off. A month after that, the alarm completely stopped working. The watch is easy to use and has several different functions, but for the price I didn’t expect it to fall apart after 6 months.

Customer Review: Love(d) it
I have owned my F6 for about a week, and I’ve really enjoyed testing out its features. It has brought a new awareness to my workouts, and I love having the fantastic feedback with the push of a button. I wish I could have given it 5 stars, but there are a few drawbacks:
1. I like the clock feature, but it doesn’t display in exercise mode. I read another person’s feedback about putting the watch near the chest strap so the clock will display for a second or two, which works ok, but I would still like to see a screen where it could be displayed during exercise.
2. All of the ads I have read say the F6 includes a stopwatch…there is NO stopwatch!! There is a timer, which counts down from a programmed time, which is NOT a stopwatch. This was one of the features I was looking forward to, and I’m really bummed not to have it.
3. Polar’s website is not very user-friendly, and worse, they just made a horrible “upgrade” to their polarpersonaltrainer.com site. One of the F6’s selling features was the ability to instantly upload data to the online diary, which was fabulous for a couple of days…until the upgrade. There are many glitches with uploading, and the diary went from fun and informative to cumbersome and frustrating.
Otherwise, I’m pretty pleased with the F6…and the chest strap is much more comfortable than I’d anticipated.
Customer Review: Works Great!
This heart monitor works just great. I like that it keeps track of how much exercise you get in a weeks time. The only thing that I don’t like is that it is difficult to see in the dark without my glasses as the light makes the numerals green. Other than that, I think it is well worth the money. Strap is really comfortable, don’t even know you have it on.

It has added features beyond the basic heart rate monitor to give a complete workout.
Customer Review: Works Perfectly!
I bought this model well over a year ago. I use it 5-6 times a week during my walks outside and indoors on the treadmill and on my stair-climber. I wanted to make sure I am working in the zone — not too high and not too low. For me, this has been an absolutely perfect device. I wanted the watch feature (not just a heat monitor) and this model does both. It has other features I don’t use as I keep it simple, yet it is still simple to use. The chest strap stays in place and is very comfortable. You can adjust it so that is fits your body. Would purchase again. I paid $70 at a local sports equipment store. You can find them cheaper on amazon and ebay.
Customer Review: Simple easy to use
I purchased this to monitor my HR for optimum results while jogging. It took about 5 minutes to set up and learn to use, and now I just put it on and it gives me what I need - no hassles or fumbling with buttons while I run. After using it for about 2 months I have found that some more features would be nice, like lap or split times, but that’s no big deal. For the price this monitor is a great value, but now I have taken up bike riding and also need a bike computer :-) Time to do some more shopping.
