The coffee can not be poured without drippling and the basket fits very precariously. If you put it in wrong, it will flood the counter with coffee because the basket does not empty. I know! It’s a messy setup anyway you look at it.
Customer Review: POOR DESIGN
Whoever designed the decanter for this coffee maker must not have tried pouring with hot coffee. It doesn’t matter if I pour fast or slowly, full or half pot — it ALWAYS drips and spills. So, I’ve become accustomed to just pouring my morning coffee over the kitchen sink to prevent the countertop mess and potential burns. Recently it’s gotten very hard to open the filter compartment, and would be virtually impossible for anyone with arthritis to do so. Thankfully, I just received a brand new Cuisinart as a gift, so this piece of Delonghi garbage is finally in the trash where it belongs.

This is a great coffee maker…I love my coffee stronger than my husband. So this little gadget is wonderful….I simply add more coffee grounds to the regular pot that I made for my husband and I have a wonderful cup of stronger coffee. I even use it when I need a cup of coffee and do not want to make a pot of coffee. Would recommend to others.

My husband loves the Melitta plastic filter cup, but we actually had to return the one we bought here (the mug broke during shipping), and I ended up finding just the plastic filter cup part at my local grocery for under $3!

Customer Review: Just quit working
I wanted a new coffee maker because I was having a major kitchen remodel done. My coffee maker is always within view on the counter and I thought the design on this one was nice. After reading some reviews on this Mr. Coffee I bought it. Remodeling was done and I put my coffe maker to work, it was great..for a SHORT time. Within 2 months the thing just QUIT. Couldn’t get it to work again at all. By that time I no longer had the receipt and so I was out of luck. I will not buy a Mr. Coffee again. I would expect a new coffee maker to work at least 6 months!
Customer Review: This Machine is a Cofee-holic’s Dream!
My husband and I drink alot of coffee. When I first saw this coffee maker in the store, I immediately fell in love with all the “bells and whistles” this machine has. The 4-hour warmer was the one that sold me immediately. I checked on Amazon to see all the reviews and decided to give it a try. The only issues we have had are 1) the basket sliding out if you pick the pot up at an angle, which I read in previous reviews. Easy fix though, I put my thumb up to catch the basket if is starts to slide. 2) Is steam condensation on the outside of the machine around the basket area. I removed the water filter assembly on the basket and that seemed to lessen it some. Believe me, these minor issues are well worth it. Hot coffee that stays warm for 4 hours (and you can adjust the warmth), it lets you know when the warmer is turning off, it alerts you when the coffee is done brewing (great feature when you use the program timer!), lets you know when it needs to be cleaned and a night light to boot! This is absolutely the best coffee maker I have had!

I have always loved the brewmaster. There is no glass pot to worry about breaking. Which someone always manages to do in our house and finding a replacement pot is nearly impossible. Anyway this a great coffee station, the coffee stays fresh and is never stale tasting.All you do is push yuor cup to the dispenser and go. You won’t be disapointed at all with this one.

I would have rated this 4.5, but that option isn’t available. The only drawback we have experienced is filling the water reservoir, but that was solved by utilizing a plastic bottle and marking the appropriate water levels. I purchased this because the glass coffee pot leaked when you poured coffee from it; when it sat on the warmer long, it burned the coffee giving it an awful taste; and it didn’t have an auto shut off. These three issues are solved. Also, very easy to fill a vacuum bottle with this machine.

I’ve had mine for over 3 years now and this little bugger still works like a champ. Having a timer set to brew coffee before I get up in the morning is ideal and it smells soooo good when I wake up. This is my third Mr. Coffee brewing machine and is my favorite so far because of size and ease of use. I bought mine at Wally for $15, but I’d have paid $25. It’s just that good!
Customer Review: Perfect for “Coffee for One”
I’ve just got the Mr. Coffee NLX5 coffee maker and I couldn’t be happier. We wanted a small coffee maker for home and this one delivers. It has a very small footprint so it doesn’t take up much counter space, it has not leaked a drop which is also good, and it makes pretty good coffee. (I use a heaping 2 tablespoon scoop for four cups.) I chose the black color so it doesn’t show the stains. The unit has a removable filter basket so I don’t spill grounds when emptying which is handy. The clock is a great feature and the timer makes it easy to have a fresh cup waiting on the way out the door in the morning. The output when I make a full pot fills a 12 oz coffee cup about twice which I find is about the right amount of coffee for me.
